This Christmas many handmade fairs have been celebrated in Valencia: La Fireta, The Pop-Up Market, the Mercadillo Diferente at el Canguro Verde, the Feria Navideña de Artesanía at El Patio de Ruzafa and the Mercadillo Creativo at Las Naves, among others. What I love most about fairs is to discover new Valencian artists and to meet again the well-known because they are as marvellous creators as people.

Tutti Confetti is one of my favourite illustrators and it was already time to meet her in person. It was a pleasure, she is so lovely, enthusiastic and funny. The question was: what not to take from her irresistible shop?
I’ve met Raquel, Gusosos’ Land, at more than a fair and it’s impossible not to buy her anything, I adore her! She has brought out some new beautiful dolls.
And about the art of the paper, at La Fireta, beside chatting and buying some stuff from Lola, from Oficio, about who I have told you in a post recently, I have known two fantastic crafters.

Heroine Paper Goods es la firma de Susi Martínez, que crea multitud de objetos de papelería. Quedé en hacerle una visita en su taller porque me estuvo hablando de las técnicas que emplea y me parecieron muy interesantes.
Heroine Paper Goods is Susi Martínez’s firm, and creates a multitude of paper objects. We arranged I’d visit her at her workshop because she told me about the techniques she uses and it seemed to me very interesting.
And DNL 10 Making Books is Daniel Díez’ handmade company, a passionate-about-his-work bookbinder who experiments with different techniques to create albums, stationery items, boxes… I had a great time chatting with him.
I dedicated a post to Manitas de Plata a couple of months ago. One of my Christmas gifts came from her stall. They have created new jewels (bow ties, cufflinks) and new designs. I got one of my favorite characters, Mary Poppins, and completed my Little Red Riding Hood, icon of the brand, with a pair of earrings. The boxes they have designed, made one by one using stamps also handmade by themselves, are so beautiful.

I knew Paratídemí‘s work through the Internet, but “live” is much nicer, specially the embroideries. So nice! I must tell you more about Estíbaliz.
And I was glad to meet Elena, Lelelerele. I have already showed you her beautiful dolls. She is a wonderful person and I love her dolls, pins and illustrations.
