Last week I started telling you abot some Valencian artists I like and whose work I could see at some fairs this Christmas. Today I’ll continue with my report.
XaruXamú is the firm of my friend Sophie, but I am as objective as possible when I say that her Peter Pan necklaces, hairbands, illustrations and complements are very nice. My daughter and I bought some of her hair ornaments.
Xelo Tortosa realiza artesanalmente espectaculares tocados y sombreros.
La Volvoreta is a new project but that is working very well. Xelo Tortosa makes by hand amazing hairdresses and hats.
As for crocheting, there are three crafters I like very much: Teresina Crochet, Planeta Piruleta and Buscando Comienzos. I already knew the first two and it’s always a pleasure to meet them. Ana, from Planeta Piruleta, is the organizer of La Fireta together with Eva Carot, a great illustrator.
On Buscando Comienzos you will find precious quilts and purses to crochet. Though definitively what impressed me were their quilts.
And between crocheting and sewing is Altamar, another friend whose work is one my favorites. This time I took a brooch from her stall at La Fireta. And for next time sure I will get one of her new mobile phone covers. Don’t you think they are great?
I’d like finish with Coco Division. I knew about this project in June and I have followed it because I find it very inspiring. Besides their own creations they make “DIY packs” with the tutorials and the necessary material to make purses or cardcases. And they also offer sewing classes. Esther kindly spent a while explaining to me all her plans.
And these are some of my Christmas handmade purchases.
