Vamos a por el bloque de octubre. Se llama Basket Weave, por razones evidentes, ya que hace la trama de un cesto.
Let’s go for October’s block. It is called Basket Weave, for obvious reasons, as the weave makes the drawing of a basket.

Como veis, el patrón tiene sólo una pieza (podéis descargarla aquí), pues todos los rectángulos tienen el mismo tamaño, 14 cm. x 4,7 cm. Pero se combinan tres telas diferentes, por lo que hay que cortar 4 de cada tela. Recordad que es preferible dibujar la pieza en papel o cartón y así os aseguráis de que todas salen iguales.
As you can see, the pattern has only a piece (you can download here), because all the rectangles have the same size, 5.5’’ X 1.8’’. But three different fabrics are combined, so it is necessary to cut 4 pieces of each fabric. Remember that it is better to draw the piece on paper or cardboard and so you make sure they all are same size.
Aún así, en este bloque el patrón os servirá para comprobar que el tamaño es correcto una vez dibujado en la tela con la regla, pues la forma de cortar las piezas es dibujar un largo rectángulo en cada tela del ancho de la pieza (4,7 cm.) y del largo (14 cm.) multiplicado por 4 más los márgenes entre pieza y pieza. En este caso unos 60 cm.:
Even so, in this block the pattern will be useful to verify that the size is correct once drawn on the fabric with the rule, bucause the way for cutting the pieces is drawing a long rectangle on every fabric the same width (1.8’’) and length (5.5’’) as the piece but multiplied by 4 plus the margins between piece and piece. In this case approximately 23.4’’:
