Some weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting one of the quilters I most admire, Paz Giral. I attended two of her workshops and it was a great experience. There is very much to learn from her and I enjoyed it a lot.

I am cut off from Spanish patchwork, my training and my references are North American, so it is sure that I am missing very interesting artists. Thankfully, Paz contacted me a few years ago, when I published a post about patchwork books … among which there was no one from Spanish writers. Although I was aware of my ignorance of the patchwork made in my country, discovering her made me being sorry for what I was missing. Probably if someone else had said it to me, I had not valued it so much.

Paz has her own style and an excellent technical level, which it is worth learning. She has developed her own technique and a know-how result of hard work and a great desire of learning more and improving. In addition she adores patchwork. All this turns her into an admirable artist and a good teacher.

Her personal, classic style is unmistakable. It is simultaneously innovative, serene and balanced in shapes and colors and technically complex.

Another thing I like from her are her kits. Her production takes behind a great dedication: they are very well explained, with an evident didactic effort, and the material is first quality and is very well prepared.

And of course, do not miss her book, Patchwork con Sentimiento II, full of beautiful projects.
