I am getting used to planning the gifts I give for Christmas so that I can practise different techniques. Last year I did it with Barguello needlework, a craft that I love and that I recommend because it is very relaxing, quite simple as soon as you master it and with spectacular results.
Barguello needlework is often confused with needlepoint or petit point but they only have in common the materials because the way of embroidering is very different. Besides, Barguello needlework is mainly used to create prints or symmetrical designs with geometric motives but not for drawings, as middle point.
To deepen this embroidery I decided to make some card wallets, choosing motives with totally different charts when embroidering them.
My next aim is to practise the symmetrical motives, now that finally I have found a suitable canvas. I expect to show you my progresses very soon.
