Tutorial: Huevo de Pascua

Mi amiga Esther me enseñó una decoración que hizo para Navidad y me encantaron la técnica y el resultado, así que la he probado para la decoración pascuera de este año. Me lo estoy pasando muy bien, es una manualidad entretenida pero no complicada, así que voy a seguir con mi hija. Espero que os guste.

 

My friend Esther showed me an ornament she made for Christmas and I loved the technique and the result, so I have tried it for this year’s Easter decoration. I’m having a very good time with it, it’s an enjoyable but not difficult craft, so I’ll continue with my daughter. I hope you like it.

Se trata de forrar huevos de corcho con tela, introduciendo los bordes de las piezas de tela en hendiduras que hemos realizado previamente en el corcho. Éstos son los pasos:

 

The question is to cover polystyrene eggs with fabric, inserting the edges of the fabric pieces in the cracks we’ve made previosly on the polystyrene. These are the steps:

 

1– Dibujamos las líneas por las que irán las hendiduras, creando el diseño del huevo que nos guste.

 

1- Draw the lines where the cracks will be, creating the design of the egg you like.

2– Realizamos las hendiduras con un cúter.

 

2- Make the cracks with a cutter.

3– Forramos el huevo con las telas elegidas, introduciendo los bordes en las hendiduras. Yo me he ayudado con el mismo cúter por el lado que no corta. Podéis utilizar también un cuchillo fino que no corte o algo similar, nada grueso que abra más la hendidura.

 

3- Cover the egg with the chosen fabrics, inserting the edges in the cracks. I have used the same cutter by the side which doesn’t cut. You can use also a thin knife which doesn’t cut or something similar, but not thick to avoid the crack opens.

4– Para terminar, he tapado las hendiduras con cinta, pegándola con silicona (podéis emplear cualquier pegamento o cola de tela).  Y he aprovechado la cinta para colgar los huevos, asegurándola con un alfiler.

 

4- Finally, cover the cracks with ribbon, and use silicone to fix them (you can also use any glue for fabric). And I’ve used the ribbon to hang up the eggs, securing it with a pin.
