At the beginning of this blog I dedicated a post to embroidery (here), one of the crafts I prefer. Since then, I have discovered many blogs, websites, books and artists and I have linked a lot of tutorials and works I liked. I think it can be very useful to organize all this information, don’t you think so?
In Spanish I keep up to date with DMC’s blog. It offers tutorials, patterns and news. It’s also great DMC’s website, though at the US website there is more stuff (especially free patterns).
Feeling Stitchy is an indispensable blog for me. It’s an embroiderers’ meeting point: many artists and bloggers collaborate and it has a very active Flickr group. Every month they propose an embroidery project and people upload their photos. It also has tutorials and patterns sections.
I love the blogs The Floss Box and big B. A great part of their posts are tutorials that explain different embroidery stitches. And the work of their writers, Emily and Kim respectively, is modern but technically complex (an unusual combination).
If you like modern motives, your web is Sublime Stitching. Its motto is “This ain’t your gramma’s embroidery”. Actually, it’s more serious than it looks. It has many links, tutorials and interesting posts.
But the modern designs I prefer are those from The Purl Bee, which has a small but very interesting section of embroidery projects.
Si disfrutáis descubriendo nuevos artistas, buscáis inspiración y queréis estar al día y aprender cosas nuevas, os aconsejo We Love French Knots.
