The magic of trips is to discover unexpected small or big things that surprise you, teach you or, simply, you enjoy. I had not idea about The American Museum in Britain, we visited it advised by a local, and it should not be like that because it is a wonderful place and very, very interesting, especially if you like patchwork.
This museum is dedicated to the decorative and folk American art, and is just a few kilometres from the city of Bath. It is organized thematically and exhibits different rooms brought entirely from USA so you can see how first emigrants lived.
In addition, it has valuable objects, such as its quilts collection, the most from the XVIII th and XIX th centuries.
In the museum shops there is, among other many things, a wide variety of books about patchwork and other needlcrafts, and fabrics with prints from the displayed quilts. After been there, we finished the visit having lunch in its beautiful gardens, surrounded by very relaxing views.
