Tutorial: funda de pañuelos / Tutorial: tissue holder

Mi rinitis crónica me hace estar usando pañuelos constantemente y, la verdad, no es muy “elegante”. Así que he pensado que si tengo una bonita funda para guardarlos quizá desvíe un poco la atención de mi nariz. Os cuento como la he hecho.

 

My chronic rhinitis makes me use tissues constantly and, really, it’s not very “elegant”. So I thought that if I have a nice cover to keep them, perhaps I could divert attention from my nose. I’ll tell you how I made it.

1– Como veis, he utilizado fieltro. He cortado un trozo de 16 cm. x 17 cm., tomando como referencia el tamaño  de un paquete de pañuelos.

 

1- As  you see, I used felt. I cut a 6.2’’ x 6.6’’ piece, using the size of a pack of tissues as a reference.

2– Como adorno, he cosido unas líneas en punto recto a un centímetro de los bordes. Para no torcerme, he marcado las líneas por el revés.

 

2- As ornament, I sewed some lines using running stitch 0.4’’ from the edges. To keep lines straight, I marked them on the reverse side. 

Y he puesto unos círculos de fieltro que he pegado con silicona (también podéis usar pegamento apto para tela) y he cosido un botón. Se trata de hacer un pequeño adorno, así que pensad algo que os guste (unas hojas, un búho,…). El fieltro es muy fácil de trabajar.

 

And I have added some circles of felt that I have glued with silicone (you can also use glue for fabric) and I sewed a button. The question is to add a small ornament, so you may think something you like (some leaves, an owl, …). Felt is very easy to work.

3– A continuación doblamos el fieltro dejando la abertura justo en medio, como en la foto, y cosemos  por los bordes laterales. Yo he hecho un doble pespunte porque me parecía más original, pero no es necesario.

 

3- Then fold the felt leaving the opening just in the middle, as in the photo, and sew the lateral edges. I have made a double backstitching because I thought it was more original, but it’s not necessary.
