La calidez de Bridget Davies y Geninne D. Zlatkis

 

 

En Valencia tenemos un tiempo estupendo todo el año. En invierno no llega a hacer mucho frío y además tarda en llegar. Pero por fin está aquí y lo estoy disfrutando: envolverte bajo las mantas, sentir el calor del hogar nada más cruzar la puerta y, por supuesto, los achuchones laaaargos de los míos. Pues la misma calidez me transmiten los trabajos de Bridget Davies y Geninne D. Zlatkis.

 

In Valencia we have a wonderful weather throughout the year. It is not too cold and besides it arrives late. But finallyhere it is and I am enjoying it: covering myself with a blanket, feeling the warmth just crossing my home’s door and, of course, the large hugs from my family. That’s the warmth the work of Bridget Davies and Geninne D. Zlatkis transmit.

 

Bridget Davies es una artista textil que borda en seda, cuero y otros materiales naturales. También pinta. Tiene una interesante trayectoria profesional que le llevó a impartir clases en Milán para trasladarse después a Londres, donde primero trabajó como diseñadora en grandes empresas y más tarde realizó colecciones más exclusivas. Finalmente, se estableció por su cuenta.

 

Bridget Davies is a textile artist who embroiders on silk, leather and other natural materials. She also paints. She has an interesting carrer that borught her to teach in Milan and to move later to London, where she first worked as a designer in large companies and later she made more exclusive collections. Finally, she established as self-employed.

 

Sus preciosos diseños son el fruto de su formación artística, su experiencia profesional y la inspiración que encuentra en sus viajes. De ahí la calidad en la confección y los diseños de aires franceses o italianos tan chic, enriquecidos con aplicaciones o cristales de Swarovsky. Y de ahí también sus pinturas de temática asiática.

 

Her precious designs are the result of her artistic education, her professional experience and inspiration she founds on her trips. Hence the quality in the designs and the French or Italian resemblance designs so chic, enriched with Swarovsky applications or crystals. And hence her Asian thematic paintings too.

Por su parte, Geninne D. Zlatkis es una maravillosa pintora, ilustradora  y artista. Sigo su blog con entusiasmo porque transmite la sensación de que pasea su mirada  por las cosas descubriendo la belleza que hay en ellas para luego transformarlas en una de sus obras mediante la fotografía, la pintura, el collage y muchas otras técnicas. De hecho, su arte no tiene fronteras.

 

For her part, Geninne D. Zlatkis is a wonderful painter, illustrator and artist. I follow her blog with enthusiasm because she transmits the sensation that she casts her eyes over the things discovering the beauty on them and then she transforms them into one of her works through the photography, painting, collage and many other techniques.
