Tutorial: broche ballet / Tutorial: ballet brooch

Mi hija ha empezado a usar las zapatillas de puntas, un nuevo e importante escalón en sus clases de Ballet. Como imagináis, y os ocurrirá a todos los que tenéis niños, estoy muy contenta de verle crecer y avanzar en lo que se propone, así que tenía que contároslo. Bueno, el caso es que fuimos a comprar las zapatillas y vi unos broches en la tienda que me gustaron mucho. Pensé que podía hacerlos fácilmente y así ha sido; aquí tenéis el tutorial.

 

My daughter has begun using point shoes, a new and important step in her ballet lessons. As you can imagine, and sure it happens to all of you who have children, I’m very happy to see her growing and moving foward her goals, so I needed to tell you. Well, the thing is that we went to buy the shoes and I saw some brooches I loved at the shop. I thought I could make them easily and that was; here you have the tutorial.

Necesitamos:

1.- Fieltro.

2.- Tul.

3.- Un imperdible.

4.- Lentejuelas y abalorios (o lo que os guste para adornar).

5.- Pegamento para fieltro o bien aguja e hilo.

6.- Unas tijeras.

 

 

 

Primero he dibujado y recortado el maillot en papel y lo he usado como patrón para sacar dos piezas en fieltro. Si os resulta más sencillo, podéis descargar los patrones en PDF aquí.

 

First I draw and cut out the leotard on paper and I’ve used it as template to get two pieces in felt. If you find it easier, you can download the patterns in PDF format here.

A continuación, cortamos dos círculos de tul, uno un poco más grande que el otro (los podéis sacar del patrón que he preparado). Para dibujar sobre  tul lo mejor es usar lápiz o tiza.

 

Then, cut two tulle circles, one a bit bigger than the other (you can get it from the pattern I ‘ve prepared). To draw on tulle the best is to use a pencil or chalk.

Ahora ponemos los dos círculos de tul juntos y los doblamos por la mitad dejando dentro el más pequeño.

 

Now put both tulle circles together and fold them in half, leaving the smaller inside.

Y los colocamos entre las dos piezas de fieltro en forma de maillot.

 

And place them between the both felt pieces in the shape of leotard.

Después unimos las piezas del maillot con pegamento o cosiéndolas, como queráis. Y sólo queda adornarlas y coser un imperdible por detrás. Yo les he puesto una lentejuela con un abalorio, pero seguro que tenéis mil ideas. Si queréis ver como coser lentejuelas, lo expliqué aquí.

 

Later, join the leotard pieces with glue or sewing them, as you prefer. And there’s only left to decorate it and sew a safety pin at the back. I’ve added them a sequin with a bead, but sure you have a thousand ideas. If you want to see how to sew sequins, I explained it here.
